This event brings together a range of stakeholders to present and sicuss the findings from a Health and Care Research Wales funded study, which explore the barriers and enables to engagement with young people leaving local authority care across Wales.

This research project was led by researchers at Bangor University and co-produced with young people who are care-leavers and multi-agency practitioners from four local authorities across Wales (Conwy, Gwynedd, Torfaen and Ynys Mon). The aim of the research was to enhance professional practice by developing an evidence-based practice model and toolkit, which was evaluated using a Social Return on INvestment to explore the social value generated.

As part of the study a podcast Symud i fyny/ Moving up was produced; featuring the voices and experiences of care-leavers, practitioners and academics. The final podcast episode will be recorded during the symposium. During the symposium, we will hear from a rnage of stakeholders about their involvement with the study, and their experiences and perspectives on research, policy, and practice relating to care-leavers.
