What is DEEP?

DEEP is a co-production approach to gathering, exploring, and using diverse types of evidence in learning and development using story and dialogue-based methods.

Leading the use of evidence in learning, development, and transformation.

Leading learning, development and transformation programmes can be challenging in the world of public services such as social care. Traditional approaches to planning that assume the world is logical and predictable can fall short when applied to human organisations. Whilst there is a strong call for evidence-informed practice, contextual factors need to be embraced and respected.

DEEP is human-centred, relational, and responsive approach that uses diverse types of evidence. It responds to context, as well as emergent needs, and seeks to bring out the best in people. The DEEP approach achieves these aims by applying a range of principles and practical methods.

What the course will cover.

This 30-hour course is spread over ten, three-hour sessions. The course equips attendees with an in-depth understanding of the principles that underpin the DEEP approach. It provides skills in practical methods that are used in the DEEP approach to gather, share, and use diverse types of evidence in learning, development, and transformation.

Who would benefit from this course?

Anyone with a lead role in learning, development, and transformation or in gathering and using evidence. This course is also designed for people who would like to share DEEP principles and methods with others.
