Social Care Wales Communities Terms of Use
Please read and accept the following terms and conditions before using any of the services on Social Care Wales Communities.

Social Care Wales Communities is a community platform based upon open source and open standards portal technology. It supports networking, collaboration and the sharing of information and ideas across those working and researching in social care.
The following information is about how to use Social Care Wales Communities appropriately and legislation impacting an individual’s use of the site.
All Social Care Wales Communities users must do so in a legal, professional and responsible manner at all times. Your use of Social Care Wales Communities is subject to your contracted terms with Social Care Wales Communities and this acceptable use policy (which amount to a non-exhaustive list of unacceptable use). Failure to act in a responsible manner or failure to take reasonable care of information in Social Care Wales Communities will result in removal of access.
Do:

- ensure you have the right and necessary approvals to store and transmit all information and data you upload.
Don’t:

- store or transmit material that could reasonably be expected to embarrass or compromise Social Care Wales Communities or partners
- store or transmit personal data relating to an individual, where the individual has not given explicit permission for the data to be used
- copy, store, host, transmit, send, use, publish or distribute any malicious computer software (malware), for example computer viruses, worms, keystroke loggers, rootkits or spyware
- conduct any systematic or automated data collection such as web scraping or data harvesting) of Social Care Wales Communities without express written consent from Social Care Wales Communities.

When you interact with Social Care Wales Communities we collect personal information about you, for example, when you register for an account.
The information we collect includes business card contact details, biography and professional skills, in order to populate your account profile. Your profile is your principal way to share your experience and expertise with other community members.
We will use your information for a number of purposes including the following:
- To send you alerts about content, groups and people, to which you subscribe, to the email address you nominate
- To customise the way Social Care Wales Communities content is presented to you. For example, if you tell us which sector you are from the content presented to your on the homepage and in your news feeds will be customised
We will display your name, organisation and email in your profile field and in your interactions. People you follow will be able to see more detailed profile information, but you have the ability to control the extent to which these aspects of your personal information are made available to other users. We will not pass your information to third parties, but other users of the Community may choose to contact you on the basis of your profile information. Your account will be deactivated after a period of 6 months if there is no activity, your profile information, content and interactions will be preserved in Social Care Wales Communities. Your profile can be reinstated by logging in again.

Freedom of Information
Social Care Wales Communities is subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and information in it is retained and may be subject to later discovery.
- Be kind and foster mutual respect: listen to the wisdom everyone brings to this group. We value the knowledge and experience of people from a range of roles, organisations and background – in this community, members are treated as equals.
- No bullying, harassment, or discrimination* is tolerated.
- This is a community for support, we will create a safe space where people feel comfortable to share their experience.
- Respect everyone’s privacy. Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions are what makes it great, but they may also be sensitive and private. What is shared in this community should stay within this community, unless you have confirmed with the person/people in question that they’re happy for you to share it elsewhere.
- When posting, we encourage you to ask for the kinds of support you’d like to receive from the group. As a member, pay attention to, and respect, the kind of support people have asked for in their posts/comments.
- If you see a post/comment that concerns you or appears to go against these guidelines, raise it with the admin team rather than confronting the author directly.
- This community is not a space for sharing details about particular individuals or any other personally identifiable information.
*Racism, sexism, misogyny, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, or prejudice based on ethnicity, nationality, class, gender, gender presentation, language ability, asylum status or religious affiliation is unacceptable.
